I got a game, Suikoden 3. When I opened the file I had dled, there were 3 little things in there. Their extensions were I00, I01 and MDS. I unzipped the I00 using WinRAR.

Now HERE is the problem, after I unzipped it. I found that that file contained what a regular CD contains. By that mean, if you put your PS2 game into your PC and check to see what is on the CD those are the files I'm seeing. I have no idea how to get that into an ISO format that I can then copy onto a DVD and then play on PS2.

There were three files in there. Their formats were:
I00 (capital i then two 0'S)
I01 (capital i then a 0 then a ONE)
MDS

Then I unzipped that. The files in there were:
-SLUS file
-some .bin things
-some .IRX things
-some.img things
-some .pss things
-the system.cnf thing

All were in their own separate files. Like i said if you want to get an idea of how it looks just pop a ps2 game into your DVD drive.

thats wierd whoever packed that separted the image to the bare basics. all those files you listed belong on the cd. Look somewhere on the Dvd Ps2 Section there will be a guild there and start the step where it tells you to use cdvdgen

ill try..... but i think ive already tried it. Oh well, nothing is lost by trying again.... except maybe a DVD lol.

What the hell, CDVDgen just doesnt want to work for me AT ALL. I did all the stuff that I needed to do like putting the wnaspi.dll in the windows/sytem32 file but nothing works. I press record and all it does is slow down my comp, A LOT. Answers to this problem and new ways to do this are VERY welcome.

I believe you have to put the wnaspi.dll file in the cdvdgen program folder. Thats what I've done and it worked that way. Hope this helps.

Tools Needed & Where to Download:

Dvd Decrypter http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_...

ISO Buster http://www.isobuster.com/dl.php?v=1&l=0

CD/DVD ROM Gen http://home.versatel.nl/joeriroels/Download/cdgen_15.rar (Credit to UCBEEF for this]

Apache2 (My Apache2, it works for me) -http://battlezone.com.au/forum/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=49492

Mirror Link Apache2(3rd paty link) - http://www.exploitstation.com/files/apache.rar (Not the server based stuff that you find in google)

Good Media, I wouldn't use 4x DVDs, they get currupted in a week or so.

3) Next Open CD/DVD ROM Generator, make a new project left click DVD-ROM Master Disk. Now open My Computer and go to your local disk and look for your files from the iso you extracted by ISO buster. Keep ISO buster visible, the cd/dvd generator visible and the folder full of the files visible. Look at the iso buster first file at the top, drag that from the folder to the cd/dvd gen and keep on doing it in the same order in iso buster. See Pic below

After all files is placed in correct order, Left click the volume TAB at the left of the pressed directory tab, and youll be taken to a new window, these next steps will be divided into two sections: (see the pic)

A-The disk name: put the exact same numbers / letters from the folder with the file that says sles [number] / slus [ number]. Example for me, my file said SLES_535.01, so i typed in SLES53501 in the Disc Name Boxes. Check Picture

B- Producer Name- ALWAYS PLAYSTATION, and for the Lincense area, Depends where you are, Eg If you are in Europe put europe.

Now After that has all been written down. Left Click File>Export IML File & put it in a folder you'd know you remember or on the desktop like I'd usually do. It would come with 2 files, 1 .iml and other .ims like in the pic \/ \/ \/ \/

4) Now open Apache2 and left click File>Import IML

Now you will see all the files you listed in order and press File again and press Build ISO, it will have a loading screen at the bottom on the percentage of the building iso. it will say when its done building the iso

5) Now you have your fully rebuilt ISO, The ISO will be rebuild and placed where your iml is so if your iml is on the desktop, the iso will be in the desktop.

OPTION-This is the time if you want to Patch your DNA file if you want to go online with the backup, go to this site if you want to know how to patch your iso to be online compatible
http://on-line.ps2nfo.com/
This doesn't need to be done if you dont have a router or your not going to play online.

Now Open DVD Decrypter and set the mode to write (MODE>ISO>WRITE), Place your DVD-R into the DVD-RW drive and look for the source, look for the newly rebuilt iso and select it as the source to burn.

And Finally set the burn speed to low and press the Burn Button and enjoy your newly rebuilt ISO which can now be played with swap magic.

what does he/she need all that for?

the image is right there, and no rebuilding is required

@crakababy...just open decrypter and select the small MDS file

@3dluis...dvd decypter when making an image splits the file into 2 parts,as listed by crakababy....I00,I01...this is why its important to use the MDS file when burning
the reason he/she has these files is probably that the source was set up on a FAT 32 file system, and the image is over 4 gb

then you should have read her post a bit more clearly, the poster has mistaken I00/I01 files with rar archives, and extracted the contents of the image by mistake

and jeese,do you pay for your bandwidth on images?
photobucket keep hammering me?

my opinion, listen to Hursty as he knows his stuff
if the game does not need to be rebuilt then just
burn the MDS file.

you may in the future also want to switch from a FAT32 file
system to an NTFS as it is much better for doing games and movies
to have the file limit set higher. That is if your system is
FAT32, but i can't think of any other reason why DVD Decrypter would
split the file into 2 parts than that.

@ steimy,..:)

it was a downloaded file that came that way,
its easy for people to get I00 and I01 decrypter extensions mixed up with rar archives

it was probable that the person who uploaded the game was running on FAT32,and the only way users who are on this system,is to use DVD Decrypter to make the intial image

thank you for all the help everyone. Unfortunately I am at school right now (finished my test early YAY!) and I cannot do anything right now. I'll try to burn the MDS file when I get home. I'll edit my post later and tell you if it works or not.

EDIT: A bit late but yeah I did get it to work. Thank you for telling me to burn the MDS file hursty. I didn't think that burning the MDS file would work because all the guides I used told me not to use it. Ohw ell, guess they were wrong (^_^). I have a new problem but Im gonna open up a new thread for that.
