Hi all
I have been burning DVD's for quite a long while now and I have picked up a lot of help and ideas since I joined up here on AD.
I have recently decided to go down the Dual Layer route and burn my DVD's to DL discs.
Here are my system specs: -
P4, 3.2Ghz PC with 1GB of RAM as well as 120GB and 200GB Western Digital HDD's. I have also got a 256MB Radeon 9600 Advantage PRO DDR TV Out DVI-I graphics card. I also have a Sony DW-D22A rewriter drive and a Liteon LTD-166T DVD ROM drive in this PC.
I am using DVD Decrypter with the ISO READ---ISO WRITE method for all my DL backups with flawless results so far, and I booktype them to DVD-ROM for compatibility reasons as well so that they play everywhere.
The problem is this: -
I tried to burn a backed up ISO file of a film that I had previously ripped to my HDD. I went into DVD Decrypter, selected the .mds file, and then set the booktype to DVD-ROM via the Liteon tab as I have a Sony burner and away it went...or so I thought...
A minute and a half into the burning process, I got this message: -
Have I posted the above link correctly? - this is my first time that I've used Photobucket to upload this image so I don't know if it has worked properly or not. Please let me know if the image can be seen or not.
If it's too big, how can I resize it?
So, what's going on??? - I only use the Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4 speed 8.5GB media for my DVD burning since I was put in that direction of quality media since joining here on AD and I've used no other media since.
These are:-

I do also close down all unnecessary running programs in the background before carrying out any burning tasks.
Has anyone got any ideas as to what this could be?
I look forward to any responses about this - all replies, ideas, advice and suggestions will be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks
Happy37

Hi shivang
Thanks for your reply.
I managed to burn a backed up ISO file of another film that I had previously ripped to my HDD. I went into DVD Decrypter, selected the .mds file, and then set the booktype to DVD-ROM via the Liteon tab as I have a Sony burner and away it went...
This time though, it worked just fine...
Could it have been a faulty blank disc? - I used another disc out of the same 5 pack of Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4 speed 8.5GB media that I have purchased previously.
Anyone have any more ideas?
@shivang:-
"and the structure on r beloved Indian films is different to r current system so DVD Decrypter has conflicts with them."
Could you please tell me as to/or in what way is the structure different on our discs? I don't think that it is, yet please correct me as I may be wrong.
I look forward to any more responses on the subject.
Thanks for your help.
Regards

@Happy37 - it doesn't look to me like it's a structure problem. Powerr Calibration errors tend to lean towards the burner for the most part...
Main PC ~ Intel C2Q Q6600 (G0 Stepping)/Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3/2GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500/Zalman CNPS9700/Antec 900/Corsair HX 620W
Network ~ DD-WRT ~ 2node WDS-WPA2/AES ~ Buffalo WHR-G54S. 3node WPA2/AES ~ WRT54GS v6 (inc. WEP BSSID), WRT54G v2, WRT54G2 v1. *** Forum Rules ***

Hi creaky
Many thanks for replying...
I managed to burn a backed up ISO file of another film that I had previously ripped to my HDD. I went into DVD Decrypter, selected the .mds file, and then set the booktype to DVD-ROM via the Liteon tab as I have a Sony burner and away it went...
This time though, it worked just fine without any problems whatsoever with no Power Calibration Area Error(s).
Could it have been a faulty blank disc? - I used another disc out of the same 5 pack of Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4 speed 8.5GB media that I have purchased previously - id number 43459/43460.
Would you suggest that I re-try and burn the film that I had problems with to another disc just in case there are problems with the disc that I had problems with regarding the Power Calibration Area Error, or shall I just leave it as is and see how the disc plays and so on?
Please let me know - I look forward to your response.

@Happy37
If you save your pictures in the .png format instead of .jpg they will be better suited for display in the forums. I.E. not so big.
Cheers.

@9mmruger1
Many thanks for your response and glad to make your acquaintance here on AD.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but the only format that I know of apart from .jpg/.jpeg is .png.
Is this the format you're talking about - please let me know.
I look forward to your response.
Thanks and regards

hey happy37 the reason the structure is different is because they are mainly made in singapour where cheap discs r used and the quick way out is the way 2 go.
