Hi,
I'm trying to burn SingStar Popworld and SingStar Party and it's just not happenening 100%. I'm pulling my hair out! I've got ISO's of both games and I have tried burning with Sony D11 +R's, Sony -R's, TDK TT02 -R's and TDK TAIYOYUDEN000 +R's. I've also tried three different burners and I'm setting the Booktype to DVD-ROM (on the +R's obviously.)
Every burn I have made loads fine on my Infinity V14 PS2 but about 4 of the songs on the 'selection screen' do not work and will not load. And it's different songs with each burn!
Anyone get any ideas?
Interestingly I made an ISO image myself of an original Sings Star 80's, and that worked fine on the first burn to a D11 +R at 4x!
Why won't the download ISO's work, I've even tried ISO's from different sources. These is really confusing.
Should I try Nero instead of DVD Decrypter?
Any help would be appriciated.
Regards
Slik

Thanks, I'll give it a go and let you know!
By the way...is there a downside to using eXpert over the manual instructions?

No downside at all; however, some people have said that it doesn't always work for them. It's just a more convenient way to rebuild.

"i thought you dont need to rebuild if you are using a modchip"
with a good one you don't
Dummy files, and all that should work anyway with a modchip.
But it never hurts to try it.
Since i got my DMS4 Pro i have never rebuilt a game.

Hi,
Just to let you know that...
Popworld on Sony D11 +R = Failed
Popworld on Sony -R = Failed
Popworld on TDK TaiyoYuden000 +R = Failed!!!!!!!
Party on Sony D11 +R = Failed
Party on TDK TT02 -R = Worked!!
Popworld (Rebuilt) on TDK TT02 -R = Worked!!
Make of that what you can. I'm not sure if the rebuild worked or it was just the media. If it was just the media, then why the hell did it fail on the TDK Taiyo +R!?! Especially as this is a V14 PS2 and all the +R burns were booktyped to DVD-ROM.
Can anyone shed some light on what happened over the last 3 days :)

Well, the only thing I can work out from the list you gave is that the TDK DVD-R worked and the others didn't.
So, try the others that failed on the tdk DVD-R.. maybe your ps2 just prefers DVD-R?
If they still don't work, then my guess would be that they need something done to the iso's then.
The problem with this kind of thing is that most people on here probably haven't got it.. and it's easier to work out what someone's done wrong if you've done it yourself. I'm not knocking anybody's advice on here, i'm just stating a fact that it's easier if you're done it yourself to know what needs doing. We're trying to help basically without knowing from first hand knowledge about this actual title.. you might have had a long wait for someone to come along who's actually done it though.
good luck with it and let us know how you get on with burning them with the tdk DVD-R.. we'll try to suggest more stuff it could be if it doesn't work.

Hi Guys,
Just thought I'd keep you posted after all your help. As I mentioned before, I rebuilt the SINGSTAR POPWORLD ISO and burned it onto a TDK -R. I wasn't sure what was the succesfull variable here, so I decided to reburn the ISO onto a Sony D11 +R which had failed previously. It worked! Not only that but the laser wasn't working as hard with the +R either.
I'm now guessing that rebuilding did infact improve the ISO even with a chipped (Infinity) PS2.
As for SINGSTAR PARTY not working on the +R but working on the -R without a rebuild, I can only assume that the +R media I have must be more receptive to poor ISO's.
Who knows! It just shows that burning PS2 DVD's is somewhat a black art and only through personal trial and error do you build up experience!
Thanks
Slick
