I was wondering what other people do. I use ifoedit to test my files in my video_TS folder( use DVD play in ifoedit) before I attempt to burn a DVD. This has saved me a few coasters. Just wondering if other people do a test before they burn a DVD and what program they use.

Yes, that's fine for single files but I was wondering about how it would play as a DVD. Say to see if the menu will work and chapter advance, things like that. I used PowerDVD but I could only see how it would play my files in my Video_TS folder as singles files not as a working DVD. I use IFOEdit and it works fine but I thought there might be a better way. If you have IFOEdit try DVD play and you will see what I am talking about. Open up your video ifo file and select DVD play without a DVD in your drive.
If their is someway to use PowerDVD in this way please clue me in.

Yes, at the bottom of the control area, in the lower right-hand corner, there is an option to select "source", and then select "Open Dvd file on Hard Drive"

Yes you can do it that way or you can Simply Drag and Drop the "Video_TS" Folder in the PowerDVD or WinDVD Windows and then it will play as if it were a DVD.....

Well. I tried dragging my Video_TS in the PowerDVD window but it still only played my files one at a time. It did not function as a real DVD. No chapter advance no menu function. I think I will keep using IFOEdit. Thanks for your input anyway.

I am running version 3.0 of PowerDVD. Sorry but my only options are using file mode or disk mode and using the file mode will not work the way I want to use it. What your taliking about may be an option on a newer version. Good program for watching DVD's from a disk but I will keep using IFOEdit to do a pre-check on my Video_TS folder before I burn a DVD.

well i use Nero Burning Rom to burn all my movies, and if a movie isn't 'DVD compliant', Nero complains straight away and prompts/warns you that continuing can result in an unplayable DVD. that's how i know if any movies are gonna work...

i found that if you open the ts video file and right click on the first ifo file. then select open with and find dvd player of your choice and it works fine. if the movie starts right off and i want the menu then select root menu. even 3.0 gives you that option.

Minion,

Did you purchase version 6, or did it come with some hardware purchase? On their site it appears that coming from version 5, it would cost me $19.95 to upgrade to V6.

TIA,

Rich
