Serious DVD DRU-720A problem

i stay in india
recently i bought some dvd-videos from London.
titles include = elephant, ten, zatoichi and other films.

the problem is none of these dvds reads on my Sony DVD DRU-720A.
there are some 7-8 titles. none of them play on my dvd rom.
these same titles play on my friends SONY DVD RW DW-D26A.

also other rented dvd titles have previously played absolutely fine on this same drive.

i thought it might be an ASPI problem. after installing and unintalling and trying out every combination of aspi i ruled out this possibility.

then i stupidly thought that maybe since these dvds are from London they are region locked and maynot detect on my system. after changing the region code to 2, it still doesn't read these cds.

i use nero7, daemon tools, dvd-decryptor.
plz help. am dyin to watch them.
