I got a Memorex DVD Double-Layer Recorder 16x16 Dual Format External about a week ago and I was wondering if this DVD-Burner is any good?

Also just wondering is burning a .wmv 699MB approx 40 mins long and takes about 2 hours to finish burning is that normal with this DVD burner?

A quick question for you "long-timers" .... I have a Plextor PX-712A and I use Verbatim 8X DVD+R blank media. Using this combination, I can burn at the recommended 4X and get excellent results. The Plextor does not allow me to get to any slower burning speed than 4X.My problem is that I am concerned that if I use Verbatim 16X blank media that I will be unable to select the slower speed of 4X. Does anyone have experience with the 16X blank media in the Plextor PX-712A?
