Is anything wrong with using DVD+R to backup ps2 games?

I have a DVD+R drive and i am a little worried but i want to know if they work because i have to backup the following games

Chaos Field
Neo Geo Battle Coliseum (just got it yesterday)
Naruto 3
JoJo' Bizzare adventure

I know i have to use dvd decryptor and i have a mod chip i just want to make sure i can use DVD+R's

There's only one way to find out... burn one and see if it loads on your ps2. Which version do you have by the way?
