EAC (Exact Audio Copy) lack of updates?

EAC hasn't updated their program in quite some time, why? The reason I ask is simply because after extracting my cd, then burn, the disc WON'T close session! I have to hit Ctrl+Alt+delete to shut down the program, reboot. The discs still come out fine but very annoying. Also, i can't find anywhere to disable Burnproof. Program needs updating simply for newer burners.
