Hi,

First of all, yes, I tried to read the sticky about the "I downloaded a game, but there is no ISO but so many files so what to do ?".

But still couldn't get it right. I have made 3 coasters so far trying to make the damn thing work.

Basically I acquired Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga from a torrent, and it's as usual in a winrar.

I opened the winrar package, inside it contains:

- USERIRX (folder)
- SOUNDIRX (folder)
- MOVIE3 (folder)
- MOVIE2 (folder)
- MOVIE (folder)
- IRX (folder)

and these files:

- ZZZ100MB.dat
- system.cnf
- slus_211.52
- dds3.img
- dds3.ddt

That's all I got, so can someone be kind enough to explain how to make a proper copy based from the condition above please?
I tried to copy the whole files into a DVD, but it didn't play.
I also tried using DVD decrypter: ISO READ, and then ISO Write the MDS file acquired, but still didn't work.

Can someone explain the step by step for this ?

Thanks in advance !

You went a step too far... if you're getting the files and folders when extracting, then the "winrar" file that you're extracting from is actually the iso that you need to burn onto good media.

Not quite understand.

Basically, after the torrent finished, I only got one file,
it's a WinRAR file called:

digital devil saga (winrar archive), which is around 3.1 GB size.

Then after I extracted it, it became another WinRAR file, called digital devil saga, 4.35 GB.

In that WinRAR file (4.35 one), are those files and folders, so I extracted the whole thing out again.

So what should I actually do ?

As far as I know I need to burn either ISO or MDS file, but not a WinRAR zip file?

As I said in my earlier post.. the second file you got after extracting from the WinRAR is the iso file... it's just that you have iso associated with WinRAR..that's why you're thinking the iso is a WinRAR file.
If you go into folder options in windows explorer and uncheck the option "hide extension for known file types" then it should show that it is an iso file, something like ?????.iso

Just burn that to disc

You were right, the opened file is actually ISO already, but don't know why it's still showed as WinRAR.

But anyway, I burned that one, and the game works fine.

Thanks a lot for the help !

No worries.. you'd be suprised how many people have said the same thing as you....

To change the association with WinRAR.. open up windows explorer... open up the tools menu...folder options. select the file types tab.... go down to where the iso file type is and click on it.. it'll say what program it's to be opened with (in your case winrar) select the change button and associate it with something else like DVD Decrypter, then you won't get confused again.

:)
