Hey guys, I know I will sound like a million other people in saying that I need help in sorting out my torrent speeds on Azureus.

I have read a lot of the help from other threads and most of them say the same thing - I think I have done everything I need, although I am not getting speeds faster than 20kB/s at the moment........

I have the green light on my download, I have checked port 55555 on my computer in the configuration, which comes out OK. Also checking on Shields UP, I get OPEN when it checks that port, which from what I am aware of is good.

I have opened up port 55555 therefore, and as far as I am aware, no firewalls are running. I get an average of 10-15kB/s for my download speed, and slightly more for my upload speed.

My requested limit is 25kB/s for upload limit, and unlimited for download.

I am using Azureus 2.2.0.2 - I was told that later ones were not great.

My router is BT Voyager 205 - and I have opened up ports 6881-6889 as far as I am aware!

That's about it, I have done so much fiddling about with no success, I am sure it is something quite easy but can't figure it out! Anyone have any ideas? Would be much appreciated!

Hope you all had a good Christmas!!!

I dont use a router so I'm not sure, but I wouldnt use 6881 ect... for ur router config. try 55555 if not, something in that range. also give utorrent a try or update azureus.

No sig for u!.

Hello, thank you for your reply.

The reason why I opened up ports 6881-6889 was from when I looked at

www.portforward.com (which seems to be the correct site for this sort of thing) and also

http://corz.org/comms/hardware/router/bt.voyager.205_router.how-to.php

which both recommend it.

In Azureus I have made it so that it is listening to port 55555.

As far as I am aware everything is correct although I am a bit naive because my knowledge about this is limited. Can anyone help? At the moment my speed is hovering about 15-20kB/s, with an upload speed hovering around 25-30kB/s.

Oh, and I have also been into Network Connections and opened up ports 6881-6889 in there on UDP and TCP, as well I think in the 192.168.1.1 - which I assume is what I am supposed to do.

I can provide anyone with screenshots if needed!

@barilboy

I wouldn't run two BT clients at the same time. Use utorrent and multi download if u want.

@ferdy1985

I'm sorry I cant be much help as I dont use a router and I'm 99% sure its ur problem. U will get more help in the sticky'd threads above about router configuration ;-D

@ferdy1985

ports 6881-6889 are not bt ports you need to allow port numbers from 50.000+ in your router to get your downloads

and yes you can use two bt clients at the same time but its not advisable as it uses the same amount of bandwith as one would anyway (split in to 2 )

i got a problem with download speed too. I tried everything but nothing was help me. Only 2 things:
install new version of Java (Java Sun System 1.5 or update 6) thats
jre-1_5_0_06-windows-i586-p.exe
and if you R using plugins then uninstall AutoSpeed
and if this will you not hep you then speed down the upload on 90 - 95% of your linespeed (for upload of course)
