Can I upgrade to USB 2.0 if I only have one USB 1.1?

Is there anyway I can do that?

I know I can buy a USB 2.0 hub/pcmcia card and plug it into my USB 1.1 port, but will that just slow all of the ports in the hub down to 1.1? Am I going to have to buy a USB 2.0 PCI card and switch it out with the one in ny comp?

I have a IBM Thinkpad T21 and one USB 1.1 port.

get that USB 2.0 hub/pcmcia card so you will have both usb1 & usb2 on your laptop

I will do that, but wont the USB 2.0 hub need to be plugged into my USB 1.1 host? Will that make all my USB 2.0's downgrade to 1.1?

I think my 2.0 (480mbs) ports will be downgraded to 1.1 (12mbs)

If the system does not support 2.0, then yes, your hub will run at 1.1 speeds.

if get the pc card with usb2 on it than will have both usb1(onboard) & usb2(card) on laptop. did the same thing on a p1 computer to get usb2.
