Modchip or swap magic & fliptop absolutely required?

Is there any way to make it work without modchip or swap magic & fliptop? Isn't it possible to create a perfect copy so that ps2 recognizes it as an original?

Are ps2 games always in dual layer (DVD9) format? In that case, wouldn't it work if burning to dual layer discs?

NO,only FACTORY PRESSED DVDs(this cant be duplicated by a burner) can be played in the PS2 without a MOD of some sort.(and a press costs around $50,000.)

Most PS2 games are DVD5,single layer.

No as Ps2 games are pressed with a code that the Ps2 reads, burnt discs don't have the code so you will need something like swap magic or a modchip or you can get a hdd for your Ps2 and play games from it by simply connecting it to the Ps2 but you need hdadvance, hdloader or Usb extreme to load the hdd so you can play games from it.

No not all games are dvd9s and no it wont work by just using a dvd9
