I've been using this software for quite a while now to convert files to MPEG-1 format. Recently I've been having a strange problem, in that the program begins the conversion, goes fine for appr. 30 seconds, and then hangs as it attempts to convert. SO I end up with a video file that is stuck on one frame while the audio continues to play normally. Most problems discussed on here seem to reference audio problems, so I am even more perplexed. I've tried numerous fixes, such as reinstallation, giving more resources to the program, and even attempting to convert files that have worked in the past. All to no avail. If anyone has any thoughts, I would be so appreciate. If I haven't done a good job of explaining the situation, I can attempt to fill in any details. Thanks so much.

BTW, running Win XP on a Pentium III with 256 RAM. Same system I've always used in doing these conversions.

Is this happening with any videos or have you tried it with only one? If it's just one video then maybe it's the source.

Thanks for the reply. It has happened with the last three videos I tried. It even happened with an old video that had been previously successful. Really odd I know, but I'm at a loss.

Not positive of your problem but here's a couple of the simpler things to check. Is this the full version of tmpgenc or a trial version? When you reinstalled did you uninstall, reboot, go through the registry and remove all references to the program, reboot, and then reinstall? Did this happen right after installing a codec or a software package? Lastly a question I don't think I really want an answer for but to ask yourself, is this a hacked version and the key may have gotten messed up?
