I have a PS2 with a duo chip that apparently cannot play PAL games, because when I burn them they are black and white and the screen rolls.

I have tried to patch with Pal2ntsc yfix program to no avail. I also tried adr patcher but it doesn't give me the option of ".PS2 PAL -> NTSC PATCH ROUTINE (NO Y POS)". When I start the program it says "could not find patch information file". then when I load the iso, it gives me no further options???

What can I do besides downloading all these games in NTSC format?
Are there games that cannot be patched? Star wars-BF2, tiger woods, Chaos Theory?

Hmm that's a tough one. I don't know why you'd be getting that error from Adr patcher, unless you downloaded the wrong version or it was incompatible with that particular game. Neither of these patches is 100% compatible with every game. The Duo2SE doesn't have a Y fix built in that I know of. You could download Swap Magic 3.6, burn it do disk and see if you can force the video mode using the video mode feature. It's not guarunteed to work, but it might. Look around for a download of SM 3.6, it might work.
