game wont boot on maxell disk

first time ever using a maxell dvd-r and im trying to back up need for speed most wanted and it booted fine on a memorex but it loaded real slow and someone told me to use a better dvd so i bought some maxell dvds...but now i try to put it on a maxell disk and i get no write errors and it wont even boot it says its a invaid ps2 disc...the only thing ive done different was lower the write speed to 1x everyting else ive did the same..but i thought a slower speed would be better? wtf up with that?

when burning at slower speed,dont burn at 1x, its best if u can,try 2x or 4x,i always burn at 4x with no problems,try 4x

I agree, don't burn at 1X, that is way too slow and sometimes it can cause playback issues as well as burning too fast like 12X, 14X or 16X. I've always recommend to burn at 4X only -- as a matter of fact, burning at 4x is one of the best and safest speeds for burning regardless if it's PS2 games or DVD movies.

So far, all of my Maxell 8X DVD+R (High Grade by Hitachi Corp. - made in japan) are backing up/loading/playing flawlessly. I've never experienced any issues whatsoever with Maxell and Taiyo Yuden burning at 4X.
