Hey, I just burned RE4 using alcohol on TDK DVD+r media 2 times

the first time I chose the burn at top speed option

and the second- burn at 4x

the burn at top speed works flawlessly,
the burn at 4x has slight skips (media is 8x)

is this normal....isn't slower burning usually better??? It didn't seem to be the case in this case

I usually burn mine anything from 4x to 8x speed... lately they've all been 4x though as it generally gives you a better burn than trying to burn the fastest the media can handle. Sometimes there are exceptions though as you've found out.. I wouldn't recommend doing that with all your burns though as you could get a few coasters... I backed up LOTR the third age at 8x on 8x media and it was fine for ages... then after a while it started to freak out on me and wouldn't load from the memory card and stuff.. so I reburned a copy at 4x and it works great again now.

hmm...now I have 2 copies...when one fails ill use the other instead of reburning
