hello everyone I have the WinTV-PVR 250 and I plugged in a vcr into the av jack of the card. I than went ahead and recorded a homevideo that I had made a few years back. When I went and played the movie back it had no sound. Now the ? is my tuner card only has a video slot (yellow) on it and no red or white plug in. So how do I get my movies to come out with sound? Any help on this would be great.

You have to use the in-line on your sound card. If the tuner card has a coax input try using that.

Depending on the audio output on your vcr. If its a single, then you need a single rca cable with a mini jack adapter to plug in to the sound card. If you have a stereo vcr you will need a 2 to 1 splitter with a single rca cable with mini jack adapter. Does the card have a regular coax cable input?

no it does not have a regualar coax cable input. So I would have to go buy a spliter with a mini jack adapater. My VCR is a stereo one.

Make sure you have the in-line enabled in your volume control settings. What model of the WintTv PVR-250 do you have?

yes it has a coax input for cable or satelite. I think that might be the problem in the settings on the wintv I will check that once my parents get up and ill get back with you on that one.

Try using the out to tv on your vcr on the coax input on the tv tuner card and set the tv tuner card to what ever channel the vcr uses and see if that works.
