Hello, I have some old football games that I would like to put on to DVD from VHS. I have been reading some posts and would most likley use the PVR USB 2.0 method. Now, my questions are. If I get one of these devices, will it come with a video capture program? The games are around 3 hours long, I want to remove commercials can I do that? Will I need another program? Will the game fit on one DVD? And, how will th quality be?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated since I have never done this before.

Yes, it will Come with some Basic Capture software....To edit out Comercials you will need a native Mpeg editor Like "Womble Mpeg2VCR"....

You Might have problems fitting 3 Hours of Full resolution video on a Single 4.38gb DVD but if you Capture useing the Half D1 resolution (352x480 NTSC 352x576 Pal) then you should have no problems fitting 3 hours on a DVD with Pretty Good quality (That is if the VHS Tapes are Recorded at good quality)......

You can capture at about 4500kbps, edit commercials, and it should fit on a dvd. If it doesn't, you can always use dvdshrink on it.
You do not need to use half D1.
It comes with all the software you need to capture, edit, and author the disk (not the greatest stuff, but it is functional). Burn in whatever software came with your burner.

Black holes are where God divided by zero...
Cheers, Jim
