No its not odd to be connected to peers not in ur region.

U should not use ports 6881 ect. as they are blacklisted by trackers and throttled by isp's. Use something between 50000-60000, and dont just trust the nat test in azureus use an online port test.

Also where in Canada are u from and what isp do u use?. I am also in Canada and I have Rogers extreme wich uses a different port # all together for optimal speeds.

No sig for u!.

Is this w/ all ur torrents, and are ur speeds ok?.

U can do an online test here:

https://www.grc.com/x/portprobe=

...after = put in port # ur using and hope it comes back "open!". Leave ur Bt client on when doing this test ;-D

No sig for u!.

What OS are u on, winxp w/ sp2?. Heres how u open ports correctly through windows firewall:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/9/263334

...just look for my name in the thread and follow instructions. Re-boot pc then do NAT test at grc.

No sig for u!.

cbrooks - is rogers throttling or capping ?

I have gone over (80 gigs up, 50 down) this month.

My upload is shiite, although my dload is great.

I have the 6 meg.

Utorrent and a spoofed bit comet.

Port 24753

The private sites show me as connectable.

I have power cycled countless times.

Linksys befsr41 v.2

Tried DMZ

Flushed dns

Did multiple spyware sweeps for bandwidth eaters and nada.

The reason I bring this up is because I am trying to upload a torrent, there are about 8 peers right now, and it's uploading at 1 k/s.

One thought I had - if those other doods aren't connectable ie they have a botload of torrents going, could it be creating a bottleneck through them, thus rendering the circuit null and void, causing my speed to suffer ???

Any thoughts on this ??

Thanks dood.

@thebone

u have u/l 80 gigs this month, and ur on rogers extreme?. I'm not sure if ours are the same but I think ur past ur limit, lol. I am only able to d/l 100 gigs a month, so ur probably over ur u/l limit.

Rogers does throttle .torrent files on initiation of d/l. and they cap as well (at least here)

And Rogers uses port 1720 for their VOIP, so forward that port through firewall at least, as for ur router im not sure if u would forward same port, I believe u wouldnt.

I got no speeds until I forwarded port 1720, and now I get my max.

w/ ”Torrent of course ;-D

No sig for u!.
