I have had my Fair share of problems with certain DvD-Rs backing games up,but ive found the Imation dvd-rs to work the best.I have backed up all my Ps2 games with them and they have worked a 100%.Now for the Maxwell,Staples and Playo they havent worked at all.I think ive gotten one game to work sometimes on the playo,but the others it has always given me a Not valid ps2 disc,I use Alcohol 120% to burn with and use swap magic 3.3 with fliptop to burn and play my backups.I have been looking for other brands to try to burn on and ill try some of the ones you have metioned.Thanks for the info.
You can try my "Easy method to properly rebuild PS2 games, including GRAN TURISMO 4, 50CENT BULLETPROOF and PATH OF NEO" here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/275350 -- for most games that needs to be rebuilt, I'd say use the first method on the very first page of the guide (which is for 50CENT BULLETPROOF).

<> Sonix Apache 2 or Apahce 3 (I like 3 better)
<> CD DVD GEN 1.5
<> Gnie's IML2ISO version 4 or Gnie's ExPERT
<> Nero Burning Rom or Nero Burning Express (good to burn ISO)

Yeah it's probably just blink luck the cheap media has worked for you. Get some Taiyo Yuden's or Verbatim's from http://www.supermediastore.com I use TYG02 (the 8x Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's) and I've never had any issues. I swear by TY's. That's what going thru a whole 100 pack without a single lag, skip, freeze, boot failure, or coaster will do.
