I used to download different torrents through Azureus with excellent speeds. Couple of weeks ago my brother moved in and hooked up his PC to the router I?m using. Since then the download speeds become extremely slow, I was able to download something that?s 4GB in approximately 12 hours, now the same torrent says ETA +/- 30 days. My internet is working great and that?s why I?m so confused. I would really appreciate any help solving this. One more thing is that my brother could of change some setting in the router. Thanx everyone I would really appreciate your help.

Try putting yourself in the DMZ in your router settings, it basically puts your comp outside the router firewall

Oh ive only just noticed that you was already using the router in the first place not recently connected it.. some things that can slow down net speed when connected as a lan is things like file and printer sharing and an incorrect setup of the connection wizard i.e having his computer connect to the net through your computer instead of through a network hub.. is Azureus showing that your nat is fine aswell?

Thank u DDark. I will check everything u suggested that could be the problem. Azureus is showing that my NAT is OK. The happy face of my current download 3.75GB is green and everything is normal except for my download speed that is around 5 kb/s. For Seeds is says 19(6) and Peers 55(39) Thanx again.

It also might just be sierra that the people seeding that torrent that were uploading at a good speed (10 meg connection - 60kb upload) have dropped and now theres bad seeders there (well i dont mean BAD as all people who seed are good but there upload speed is crap)
