Hi,

Im having some problems creating an image file from a number of different games
(battlefield 2, smash court tennis 2 and ricky ponting cricket 2005)

Ive tried using DVD Decypter 3.5.4.0 and the latest alchohol 120%, and neither seem to able to successfully read the ps2 originals. Both programs have read errors at the same spot i.e. (battlefield 2 - 62%)

I have succesfully copied a few games, but im having these problems with alot of different games.

My DVD Drive is a Sony DVDR/RW DWQ28A

These are the errors i get with DVD Decrypter (with battlefield 2)

I/O Error!

ScsiStatus 0x02
Interpretation: Check Status

CBD 28 00 00 01 F8 0B 00 00 01 00
Interpretation: Read (10) - Sector 1193012

..And this is from the log

Failed to read Sector 1193012 - L-EC Uncorrectable Error
Failed to read Sector 1193067 - L-EC Uncorrectable Error
...etc...

The original ps2 games im trying to create images of, are in fairly good condition, with no major scratches.

Please dont just point me in the direction of tutorials, because ive checked them and they didnt help.

Does anyone know why this could be hapening?

Thanks

hiya!

these I/O errors are ultra annoying. i had rainbow six and it used to keep getting stuck at 24%. the third time i tried copying it. it didn't give me any error.

so try copying ur games many times and clean the discs.

if this doesn't help , try another program like Nero or sonic record now.

even if this fails, try reinstalling ur drive and change its status from slave to master or the vice versa.

let us know wat happened.

see ya

borrow/rent another copy, these games ripped perfectly for me with DVD Decrypter, it's your disk. Battlefield 2 I've even ripped the backup copy and had others rip a copy from that copy with no problems.

you can try updating your drives firmware to help it better read the disk as well.

Yeah it's a scratched disc. DVD Decrypter is picky with scratched originals for me as well. I use Alcohol 120% for backing up my horribly scratched discs.

Alcohol 120%: http://www.free-downloads.net/programs/Alcohol_120_

88. Q. How do I burn PS2 DVD games with Alcohol 120%?
A. Ripping the game to your Hard Drive:

1. Insert your disc.
2. Open Alcohol 120%.
3. Click Image Making Wizard.
4. Check Ignore read errors, select your recorder, leave the never seperate box alone.
5. Click Next. Select a destination for the game. Click Start.
Once the process is complete, you'll get an mds and an mdf file. Click finish, if necessary.

Burning the game to DVD:
1. Insert your blank disc.
2. Right click the mdf file.
3. Select Image Burning Wizard.
4. Select your recorder, set the write speed to 4x.
5. Click next.

Note: I use Alcohol 120% as my backup program for ripping scratched originals. DVD Decrypter can be picky with scratched discs. I use DVD Decrypter to burn the mds file. For purposes of this guide, I'm assuming you are you using Alcohol 120% to burn the game to disc. Feel free to use whatever works for you.
