ffdshow - "library files" needed to configure?

I downloaded the MediaPlayerClassic software (recommended by divx-digest.com), and I want to use ffdshow for decoding DivX 3.x 4.x and 5.x files.

ffdshow has been recommended in this forum as a superior codec that is easy on the CPU. I downloaded and installed the software, but when I play a file with the MediaPlayerClassic, it is obvious that it is using the DivX codec, not ffdshow.

I went to the start/programs list and clicked to configure ffdshow, and get the message: "ffdshow.ax... one of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found."

I avoided the Nimo codec pack since somebody here said don't trust codec packs. So which "library files" do I need to run ffdshow configure. What am I missing?

I have been making some great-looking rips of Babylon 5 episodes, and they play fine on my DivX player software (especially if I change the screen resolution to 640x480 for playback), but the reason I'm looking into MediaPlayerClassic with the ffdshow codec is that I want to find something that will work for friends who have low-power CPUs. The ffdshow solution is said to be much more conservative of processor power.
