i tried joining two divx fies using virtualdub but i kept getting a warning saying (couldn't locate decompressor for format'Xvid'(unknown). Dont really know what i should be doing next!Pls help.

You should try using windows movie maker ;) just open the two files and drag em onto the timeline save the file and w00t your done ;)

get a decent codec pack and use movie maker like rundata says.
