displaying Album Art worth it?

OK so I spent a hella long time typing in my album name's in amazon.com and then clicking on the album art and saving it to my computer and then adding the pictures to my songs on the album. Then after my ipod finished updating i gave my ipod a listen. but i noticed that the ipod was working twice as hard to display the photo. i could hear it loading and feel it when i held my ipod. and i noticed my battery plummeted dramatically. it was cool to see the album art but when i put my ipod in shuffle mode and skipped through songs at a somewhat fast pace my ipod shut off and went to an all black screen with the white apple logo in the middle. i dont know what is wrong. what should i do?
