I've been racking my Brain trying to figure out why my DVD Burner won't burn any DVD's. I think it might have something to do with the Buffer or with the DMA or some nonsense like that. Here is an error report I recieved in Nero 6

Registry Keys:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\AllocateCDROMs : 0 (Security Option)

It will usually get to about 5 percent, and then all of the sudden an error message will pop up that says "Write Failed @ 4x...". I am not running any other programs during the process. The reason I think it is something about buffer buisness is because I tried to update the DVD Drivers and it said something along the lines of "Buffer Failed". Another DVD Burning program also came up with the message of "Buffer Write Failed"

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

You did select "Device Manager" correct? It has to be there, I can only think you did something wrong.

Wow, never seen that before, not sure what to tell you. Long shot, but go into Control Panel, then Add Hardware, and see if this might help....don't know for sure, but that's all I can think of, right now.

Good luck,

Rich

I saw something about a secondary DMA channel and a SIS IDE Busmaster Controller and they both had ? marks next to them. However when I clicked them it said "Device is working properly"

I am pretty much at a loss here, wish someelse could chime in.

Do you have SATA drives, and is it possible that you have the DVD drive on a SATA controller, which I don't think would work, but......?

Sorry,

Rich
