Hi everyone
Can anyone recommend a good video-capture-card for recording from VHS to my hard-drive,then onto DVD format. I have a ATI all-in-wonder 128 which no longer seems to do the job.
Pent4 1.5 gz
HD 60Gb
512 sdr memory

Hauppauge PVR-150 is a fast way, with good quality.
Canopus ADVC-110 with Canopus Procoder is a better way, although a much longer process.

Pinnacle Studio Deluxe AV/DV Plus (International Version) is the only way to go. I have it on 2 machines and they are busy all the time. So much so now that I have people paying me to put their old tapes on to DVD so I am making a few dollars on the side.

I just checked your message and you wont get much on a 60 gig hard drive, I have two 200 gig drives in each machine, one of them partitioned to allow 20 gig for the operating system and programs. It is not successful to do video editing on the same drive as the operating system. Also your processor will take a while to process a movie, you really need a 3.0 ghz at least and also a gig of ram helps a lot.
