Hey, I finally had to ask this question. And I feel really dumb asking it. How do I encrypt my router? (Password lock it).

There are about 6 people in my area connected to my router because it is unsecure. I dont feel safe and I think its lagging me down. Can someone link me to a nice noob friendly tutorial or guide me themselves on encrypting my router? I would very much appricate that!

Thanks!

It should be under the WEP menu in your router menu.

Dont let the door hit you on the way out, beacause I dont want ass prints on my new door!

Go to your manufacturers website and look for an online manual or follow one that you have with you. You will need to sign into your router with its http:// address and follow the menu within. Then you will need to also setup any wireless PC?s etc., with the same 64 or 128 code, depending on which way you choose.

http://www.smc.com/index.cfm?event=viewProduct&localeCode=EN_USA&...

I just went to SMC website, looked up your router and found they have an online manual for download. Try this yourself and follow the manual to setup your web encryption.

If the link doesn't work for you, do a Google search with your router just like you typed in the post and you will find their site.
