Hi people. I have just ordered a Swap Magic thing for my Slimline PS2 and have a few questions:

- Will a backup disc work properly on a 50hz TV?
- Can Magic Swap play DVD PS2 games aswell as CD PS2 games?
- How exactly does it work? Say I want to play a backup disc, what would I do?

I wont get the Swap Magic until next week sometime so im just curious of how it works. BTW, im living in the U.K. and usually I try to play an American DVD on my TV it plays in black and white. Im not sure if this is the same for backup DVDs so could somebody tell me?

Hey dude,

well yes u can play CD backups and DVD back ups , the swap magic comes with a dvd disk and a cd disk which makes this possible.

Your Tv should be fine for this, did u buy a flip top or a slide tool with the disks? if so then u put the swap magic disk in your console wait until the load program appears on your screen then either open your flip top or use the slide tool mechanism, both avoid the console from thinking a new disk is being placed in therefore does not reset.I hope this helps you dude

congrats on buying swap magic cheapset backup soultion you can buy and yes it works first

imports play fine with swap magic in uk if you either patch your image to NTSC or select NTSC video mode when booting swap magic

it comes with a cd for cd games and a dvd for dvd game aslo you will need a tool set for the lid not sure witch one you need as ive got bulk ps2

to play your back up disk from copying to playing

you need dvd decripter and a dvd rw

start dvd decripter

select mode/read click rip to hd (have a least 5gig of free space)

then insert blank dvd r (good media i use ritek go5 dvd -r and never lost a disk )

click burn you image

take your sm dvd to ur ps2

boot it

wait for it to load swap with you back you (if an import change video mode)

press x

bingo your playing your back up

Thats great! Thanks for the fast replies people, i've actually given the game to my uncle who is going to back it up for me so I dont need to worry about copying it to a CD/DVD.

Seems quite simple and easy to use. I have a Slimline PS2 and I ordered the Fliptop Swap Magic.

BTW, how exactly does the flip top work? How do you put it on the PS2?

its a little difficult your best bet is to google it and look for an installation guide with pics its the easiest . Its not a prob to b honest more or less straight forward
