I am copying some DVD's, is there a difference in quality if I burn it at 2x or 1x, I am assuming that 1x will take the lenght of the movie? Thanks for the help.

Most will burn at 4x. Of Course some burn at max speed if they have excellent media. But I still only burn at 4x better safe then sorry. Any slower really isnt going to make a diffrence.

1x and 2x is overkill unless you are useing complete garbage media in which case it will deteriorate in a short time anyway. I agree with larrylje or as a rule of thumb burn at half the rated speed of the media. You can probably burn top notch media such as verbatim or TY at 8x but I don't recommend burning any faster.
