Hi

I have just ordered a pioneer 104 dvd writer, for the purpose of backing up my dvd collection....

As every newbie does I have read through a fair number of threads in the forum looking for the best way to go about backing up my dvds.

What i would like to know is, assuming that I can get any software that i need, what people's views are on the best method and the software required.

So you have an idea of what I will be working with, I have an Athlon XP 1700+, 512MB 2700 DDR RAM, and ~30Gb of free ATA133 hard disk to play with. As I said I will shortly be adding the pioneer 104 for my dvd burning!

All help, comments, links will be greatly appreciated.

In this very forum, we have few threads that go through the three different methods of backing up DVDs -- one for movies that fit to one single layer disc (<4.36GB), movies that almost fit (require stripping out additional subtitle/audio tracks) and movies that simply need to be re-encoded with ReMPEG2.
