Hi I have been using Azureus for quite a while and there was this one unlucky time when my computer crashed. Since then everytime when i try to load it, it takes much longer than usual, and I started getting an error message :
Azureus did not shutdown tidily. Check C:\Documents and Settings\TY\Application Data\Azureus\logs\save for diagnostic log files and consider reporting them to the Azureus team if this is the result of an application error. Also check the Wiki (see the Help menu) for 'Azureus Disappears'
My Azureus client will then hang immediately and indefinitely after startup and not respond and i will have to shut it down.
My previous version was Azureus 2.3.0.4 i think, and subsequently after the error i reinstalled the latest Java and Azureus 2.3.0.6 but the problem persisted.
Really at my wits end. .
Any ideas would be most appreciated!

you might need to uninstall Azureus and then reinstall it , dont dl any of the plugins and restart Azureus you should be ok then , if you have any more probs just post back :)
1)open Internet Explorer
2) "Tools"
3) "Internet Options"
4) "Advanced" tab
5) scroll down and uncheck "use JRE 1.5.0_07 for <applet> (requires restart)
Azureus continues to be the most configureable, overall powerful client available today. Its newbfriendliness notwithstanding, its no one's fault but your own that you chose to abandon ship and avoid learning something new in favor of a "do this for me" solution.
Personally, I can't stand uTorrent, for several reasons, but I often recommend it for newbies to the torrent world, because it can be a little overwhelming at first. However, if you're upwardly mobile regarding general internet technology, it takes about 10 seconds of tweaking to make it more than workable, right out of the box.

Additionally, and I suppose this might sound weird from someone who writes so many tutorials, but I personally think all-in-one-solutions are going to be the downfall of p2p. I think personally it's just fine that people spend a day downloading a 5 gig file only to delete it because they're too lazy to take the time to learn how to unrar it...I try to learn new things every day, and often I find myself 3 hours into a project that should have taken 10 minutes because I can't stop clicking new links to learn about new stuff.
Anyway, I'll end my rant, but at least ya know how I feel.
