DVD+RW drive not recognizing any CDs..

I have a DVD+RW drive and for some reason it stopped recognizing CD's and DVD's recently, i am not sure whether it needs to be cleaned or whether its a connection problem? maybe some of u can shed some light on this for me. thanks.

Can use a Laser lens cleaner but this is not a good sign. Make sure no software is running that could "capture the drive (packet writers like InCD, or burning programs like Alcohol, and others). Could try uninstalling then reinstall the burner from device manager. Could try the drive in another computer or swapping a good drive into this computer, which would confirm drive functionality (or not).
