I downloaded an episode of viva La Bam from limewire and i want to get it onto my 30gb iPod. I have tried dragging the file to iTunes onto the "video" section on the left and it was a circle with a dash through it meaning i cant put it in there. Then i tried putting it into the tab that is for my iPod where i put my music and nothing! Then i went to where i had put the show file and right clicked the file and went down to send and clicked "ipod" and i waited for the transfer to end and i checked my iPod and still not there! Im using windows XP, if that makes a difference... Plz help me!

If the episode is not .mp4 or .mov file, you need to convert it to iPod video format first. Check the guide in my sign. Lethal's guide is also great.

Have you imported it into itunes? if so, plug your iPod in, then right click your ipod in the source menu on the left-hand side of iTunes and click 'update'.

Well just re-import them, and this time, consolidate your library (Advanced===>Consolidate Library)
Then you can delete the songs in "MY DOCUMENTS AND LIKE SIX OTHER PLACES"

You didn't need to burn it onto a DVD just to get it onto your iPod.. you couldn've just transcoded it with videora..

What are you using to convert? Do you have 'TV out' activated?

Sorry but this has to be said,(and apple ipod is partly to blame for this). the name ipod video is, in my opion, somewhat deceptive because its not really a video player as such. the only formats of video it accepts are MPEG-4 aka acc) and if you're using limewire to get your videos or whatever they won't be in that format (most will be in avi/dix or perhaps MPEG-1 or XviD. Therefore they will have to be converted into MPEG-4 in order for you to get them onto itunes and then onto your ipod. A simple process but it can take time. My suggestion would have been to just get a PMP aka portable multimedia player like, yes there it is again, the Archos AV500(L.B knows what im talking about). As its too late for that LB is giving you excellent advice and he should eventually solve all of your problems. Just thought I'd let me views known. keep up the good work LB. And I hope all you guys find the answers you're looking for, I wish i could have been of greater assistance but LB knows what he's doing. sayonara.

I agree with you totally. I use my iPod often and know a lot about it, but I know it isn't the best out there. I have had quite a few mp3/pmp's (and still do). I must say that the iPod is very weak as far as video playback options are concerned. But at the same time, the playlisting facilities & the interface are second to none, and that is the real reason I use it most often. It isn't the best, i'll admit that, but to me, video is secondary on any portable device. I prefer to have music on-the-go & organized. Video playback is more of a luxury to me than a necessity :-)

You will need DVD Decrypter aswell (Have a look at my guide at the top of the forum for more info..) But if you ae willing to pay a small fee, you can get all-in-one DVD-to-iPod softwares...PQDVD is one I highly recommend..(again, please refer to the guide)..

You should get a program like Videora to transcode your videos into iPod compatible format.
