Sorry i havnt played the game for two years lol since i finished it 100%. Which Zanarkand boss are u talking about? is it the big thing when you go down all those floors? If so i dnt really know what i used on that go. I think i had full throttle or something so i used that 2nd time round. First time i beat him normally, just attacking, with default dresspheres.

I don't ever intend to play Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. Someone told me it didn't work with a modchip, so I "acquired" a copy and backed it up perfectly. I was just wanted to test it out. I was never into FPS's, I'm more of a thinker, shooting stuff til my thumbs hurt isn't my idea of fun. I do like sports games, just because I'm a big sports fan. There were some bad FF games, namely FF Mystic Quest. I know FF Tactics was revered, but I don't think it's half as good as a lot of other games of the same genre. I think Vandal Hearts 1 and 2 and Tactics Ogre were at least as good, if not better. I mean the original FF was a classic, but who's in a hurry to go play it nowadays. The early RPG's like DQ and FF had almost no plot. World is in danger, kill four fiends, light orbs, fight Chaos, the end.

its funny the line between fps gamers and rpg gamers. ill play an rpg if it looks nice or i know the series, but i mainly stick to fps like ut, hl2, counterstrike, medal of honor series, timesplitters:fp..i could go on but i wont. the rpg's that i like are ff and xenosaga, i dont think i played any more thjan that.

and i mean the zarkand boos that guards the sphere, its a big lizard thinger.

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

anyhow wots other peoples opinion?

p.s. ff12 is gonna be astonishin.. and y hasnt ne1 mentioned ff9? i thought it was a crackin game! agre bout ff10-2, glad atb meter was brought back but mission based i thought was bad, jus ther t make time pass (as in, in-game time..) ff7 is my fave!

Think I can safely say that I like all genres of games ie platformers, sports, FPS, horror, RPG etc etc (even the infamous yet very strange yet strangely addictive Dahamari Katamari). Now the original Half life that was a game and a half never bothered for number 2 as I don't really play games on PC and never owned an XBOX. Has anyone ever played silver for the PC? If you havn't its a recommended must as it's like a strategy/rpg game that realy makes you think and excellent interface.

PS have to say FFVII disc 1 (end of) was probably the saddest moment in any game I'v played EVER. (very emotional) :(

Oh yeah and I feel FFIX was n extremely good game but just didn't live up to it's Predecessor's (think thats how you spell it in England although correct me if I'm wrong) ;)

I've heard about the We Katamari Damahri or whatever game it is. I heard a couple of stoner's who worked at the local Blockbuster talking about it. They were like huh huh this game's cool huh, huh. I guess you collect stuff in a giant ball in the sky or something. Not exactly my style. I do have a backup of Harvest Moon: Special Edition, but I don't think I'd ever play it. I'm just too repulsed by the cartoony nature of the game. One week til tales of Legendia hits the states, woo hoo! Those of you with modchips in the U.K., you can get it then as well. Speaking of modchips, I think I'm going to download FFX International. Cheers!

Don't forget us poor swap magic users. :( (actually not too bad havn't had one game refuse to play as of yet, touchwood) :)
Nah in dahamari katamari you go to earth then roll around in pepes homes picking up all the little stuff then as the ball gets bigger you can pick up larger and larger stuff inc.animals and I think humans but havn't got that far yet, weird yet strangely entertaining!
Played harvest moon for about five minutes and I wouldn't recommend anyone play this!
Need help at the mo playing altogether DQVIII, shadow of colossus, dahamri katamari, star wars battlefront 2 and gonna start wild arms 4 ne one else get the same problem where theres just too much to choose from? LOL ;)

Swap Magic is a good product, I just didn't want to have to Swap every time I wanted to play a game. It's a little different in the UK, what with modchips being illegal. They're still perfectly legal in the US. If you have the money, it's no contest, a good modchip beats the crap out of Swap Magic. I only have a couple of PAL games, but it's still neat to play them perfectly on an NTSC TV/PS2 with no patching at all. I have quite a few PSX PAL games, so it comes in handy there as well. There are far more people on this site with Swap Magic than a modchip. I'm just a modchip guy lol. I haven't been playing DQVIII as much recently, I've spent a ton of time on AD, and watching DVD's. Maybe I'll find a Ms. Tokijin, so I wont be on here as much lol. Oh well, I've got some school work to do. Cheers!

Swap magic's got different video modes so it centres perfectly! Have been considering a mod chip but not too brave on soldering in my PS2.
Have you seen 'the Business'? Really good film if your into that sort of thing. Ne wayz I'm out, gotta sign on 2moz 10am sharpish (00.16 am in good ol England). :(

PS only been doing about 2 hours a day on DQVIII but will finish.

I'm aware of that, but it doesn't work with every game. Some games will still be in black and white and require patching. I've never seem the business. I'm one of those Cynic's who think movies nowadays are of terrible quality. I don't go to theatre often. Hell as you may have guessed by my massive amount of posts, I don't get out too much, except for school.

That pic is from the movie Deliverance, it's a little before you youngins time. That fella and his buddy ass rape their way to movie history with one of the most brutal scenes of all time. Sorry off topic, So is FF Unlimited any good? Most things I've read said it wasn't that great, so I have no intention of downloading it. I'm downloading FFX International now, so here I come Dark Aeons and Pennance.

Hah Tokijin hope you have fun against those Dark Aeons, i had to beat Dark Bahamut without Tidus' Celestial Weapon, because i forgot to get the sun thing from there (or whatever it was) That was difficult, but he was only the 2nd one I beat. Anima was the last one, and she took me a a week or so, just working out a strategy to go at her. Yojimbos quite easy compared to some of the other ones, and he drops some good items. You have to beat him 3 times i think though, in the cave where u get the original Yojimbo. Magus Sisters took piss, until i figured out a strategy for em. Theres actually a way to fight them one a time therefore reducing the huge burden of beating them. This way they cant use their overdrive either, so it becomes a hell of a lot easier beating em. If ur an Avid gamer, the other ones shouldnt give u too much trouble. If they do u can always use Yojimbo to beat them in one!

I quite enjoyed watching Last Order, even though they did change the story a little when compared with FF7. Nothing major though, U arent gonna miss out if u dont watch it, though it is 20 minutes of good fun. FF9 was a great game, no denying it. Going through it now, i missed a lot of things first time. I hated how i had to play that shitty Chocobo game though to get to Ozma, the big bad boss with like 65000Hp. He was probably one of the toughest bosses in any FF Game, even more ANNOYING than Penance. Hades wasnt that Difficult, i beat him first try. The ark eidolon was pretty cool, but I dont know why i bothered running everywhere for Save The Queen, i couldnt use it anyway. I had Excalibur with Steiner, and Ultima Weapon with Zidane. (Think i had Vivi's and Daggers Ultimate Weapons too) For some reason I found FF8 the most difficult. Squall wasnt a really likable character, and the games mood always seemed down because of him.

Not saying that FFIX stinks but in my view, fails in comparison to VI,VII,VIII.
how can you say FFVIII was difficult and Squall wasn't likeable. It was arguably (in my view) the second best Final Fantasy to be released. It portrayed a more serious side to the series and it really paid off bigtime. It has the possibly the second most badass badguy in it.
1. Sephiroth
2. Seifer
3. Kefka
Have to say Kuja and Seymour really can't appear in this list for two reasons:
One dresses like a girl
One sounds like a girl, yeah Seymour where talking 'bout you! :)

There was a huge difference between fans opinions for FF8. Some thought it was fantastic. I personally thought it was a very good game. It had more flaws to pick out though, such as the battle system. I personally prefer MP, and the limited amount of spells and draw system really disappointed me and confused me a little at the same time (you have to remember i was only about 10 when i was playing this game, though i was a pretty adept battler) The Junction system pissed me off too, unnecassary confusion again. The simplictic battle system in FF7 was more to my taste. However there is no denying that FF8 had a VERY involving and DEEP story, and i managed to beat it, and beat Ultima Weapon on the 3rd time too.

I always get the problem when a new Final Fantasy comes out that I wake up say 1pm -> postpone everything I'v got planned for the day including m8s,work, school (as was the case with viii and ix) -> screw the recommended 15 mins every hour break and more like 5mins to eat every 5 hours-> play up until about 5am. Continue this for 3 days and jobs a gud un'. :) (Not been able to bring myself to do this with DQVIII, must be old age) LOL :)
Ps have to say main characterwise for me->Cloud then Squall (Advent children might change your mind) Then definately Zidane before Tidus,
to me Tidus can be cool but he just acts TOO YOUNG with his constant nagging, lovestruck 'not reached puberty' point of view.
(Yet the ending I didn't see coming and feel for the poor guy/boy)

Well i thought Tidus was alright, he did act a little juvenile, but that was just his character. I thought his English voice work was done very well. Saying that, he was the only character with voice work, so he cant really be compared to the others. Cloud was the oldest one out of them all, and he was quite stoic too, though not as much so as Squall. Zidane was ok, didnt mind him. I don't know how Vaan will fare, he looks prety girly. I just hope that he isnt one of those young uns' style character, that laughs at lame things, and isnt very serious.
