Ok I just recieved the Slide Card & Swap Magic 3.6 Set. Now, how the heck do I use it to play backup PS2 games. I insert the swap magic boot disc and it gives me a menu called the PS2 ultilmate collection. There are several options available. I'm guessing, but to play backup PS2 games do I have go under swap magic 3.6 plus. It says Load program and video mode:Normal. I inserted my backup PS2 game but its says not a valid PS2 disc. I'm I doing this right or I'm I using a bad DVD. I burned a game using Memorex DVD-RW.
You are doing it right but Swap Magic dont boot RW DVD's, and I think mod chips dnt do it eadther, dnt use RW use DVD-R. And use good media like Maxell, Verbatim and Tayo Yuden.
1. yes you are using a bad DVD, Memorex is the worst!
2. RW disc are no good for games, try DVD-R
3. get a better brand of media like Philips, Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, TDK in a DVD-R 8X speed
4. burn the games on an 8X speed DVD at 4X
5. make sure you have the most up to date firmware available for your burner as well, that can really help out with media compatibility.
Ok I just picked up some Verbatim DVD-R's 8x, I copied Shadow of Colossus to my harddrive and burned the ISO file to the DVD-R at 8x. Is that correct so far. I inserted the swap magic boot disc, used the slide tool to open the tray, inserted the backup PS2 game, pushed in the tray, then used the slide tool again to lock the tray. I press the x button and its says not a valid PS2 game. What I'm I doing wrong. I tried special boot, video mode:PAL and NTSC
One more thing if I mess up, does that mean that DVD-R I used is no good any more. Is there a way I can earse what I copied onto the DVD-R and start from scratch or do I have use a new DVD-R.
Burn at a lower speed(on an 8x burner burn at 4x max)
Burn the MDS file(if you're using DVD Decrypter - I've never used anything else) not the ISO file
If you get the "Not a Valid PS2 disc" screen with swap magic try this(it doesn't make sense BUT IT WORKS): Unplug the power cord from your ps2, wait 5 minutes, plug it back in, and try again.
