I want to this mother board for pc build

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131575

I noticed while looking at the pics that it has an 8pin cpu power connector. I would need an 8 pin right??

If so can u post some power supplies that have an 8pin connector??

don't think so as the motherboard uses a 24pin connector. what that 8pin is for i don't know. check manual from board site to see what it is for & post the info for other people to know.

ozzy, you didn't look at the picture of the board as that connector is by the keyboard/mouse connectors.

444, check boardsite for manual to see what that connector is for.

I couldn't copy and paste it was a pdf file. So hear goes

ATX power connectors 24 pin eatxpwr, 8-pin atx12v
It is recamended that you use an atx12v specification 2.0 compliant psu witha minimum of a 350w rating. This PSU type has 24-pin and 8-pin power plugs

Do not forget to connect the 8-pin atx+12v or 4-pin atx+12v otherwise the system will not boot up.

Thats pretty much what it had.

Quote:
Power supplies built to the EPS12V standard include a 24-pin motherboard power connector and an 8-pin +12V connector. (Source: Antec)
Quote:
8-pin +12V connector with detachable 4-pin section for universal motherboard compatibility
So this is required on some boards to have an 8 pin instead of a 4 pin 12v. The second quote shows that one of the antec psu's has an adapter for either.
