Hi all,
Ive been using Azurues for a couple of months now and I kkep reading on here that Default ports 6880 - 6889 are not recommended for Azureus and I should change to a port with 5 numbers ie; 50000.
The problem Ive got is In getting D/L speeds on a ggood day of 120kbs which doesnt seem that bad.
I ideally want More speed from my 1 meg and a speed test showed. 934Kbps of D/L speed to 238Kbps of U/L speed.
How do I change my port or should I stick with this 6882 port?
Also is it worth D/L the Peer guardian 2? and will it cause problems with other programmes on my computer?
Thanks.
Lazyfish.

Yes def change port number to above the 50000 mark and its worth getting peer guardian2 as well , ports 6880 - 6889 are blacklisted from most trackers so you wont get any good download speeds :)

Celticfc1, why would you get peerguardian if Azureus has a plugin that uses peerguardian's blocklists ?

I personally dont use any of azureus's plugins as they do nothing but eat up more resources lol

plus a lot of the plugins hamper your dl speed :)

This one doesn't use any more resources, it just loads peerguardians lists into azureus's ip blocklist, and as for speed, it's stayed the same.
