apparently it seemes a media problem. only use high quality media such as Maxell( made in Japan), Verbatims, taiyo yudens. always got after made in Japan ones. stay far away from made in taiwan/india.

Yeah, I think suliam could have hit the nail on the head there.... never seen anything like that myself though.. usually skipping/repeating sound on some games, but never low output.
What media are you using? media code if possible please?

Did you try an original disc to see if that does that too?

I used to have a problem with my Swap Magic process but later I figured out that if you have scrathes on your backup copy of the game then it won't work properly. Also I had covers on mine so I made a copy that didn't have a cover on it and it worked like it was supposed to. So no scratches and no cover then you should be good edited by ddp

Try your ps2 on another TV? .. and if that's not the problem, then try using the discs without labels... see if they work ok.. then put a label on it and you'll have your answer. If they work ok without labels, then it's the labels that are the problem... if you're still having sound issues then it's the media.

go with a sharpie, label will offset the balance of the disc.
I use a sharpie on all mine and they work just fine.
And what speed TDK DVD's are they
If they are 4X then burn them at 1X
If they are 8X then burn them at 4X
also check your burners firmware, if it is out of date then
that could cause you to have problems burning some media
with good quality results.
http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php But i have used TDK in the past and
they should work just fine, although all burner/PS2 combos
seem to like different types.

Yep, that's why I suggested trying it on another TV, to check if it was your TV or the cables.... oh well, you found out anyway.
