I did a search and someone else had the same prob but no help:

I backup my copy with dvd dycrept and Rebuilt game, Im using sm 2.0 to boot up but
it says "FATAL ERROR" when game starts to load..... now i use dvd+r vertabin with a plextor burner and 99% of games i back-up work and i never have gotten this message!! Any insight?

Fatal error on the PS2? Never seen this myself. As that game is probably newer than SMv2.0, you might need version 3.0 or higher. If you look on the torrent sites, they prob have a newer version.
Just get that newer version, burn it to DVD-R, boot up SMv2.0, swap it for version 3.6, and then swap THAT with the game. It should work.
