Just installed an ASROCK K7S41GC motherboard.

Everything seems OK. A few problems at first, got them sorted. One problem left. When I insert the main power cord in the rear of the box the computer automatically powers up. All lights and fans. Has anyone came across this problem in the past. Problem also when trying to turn off the computer, the computer will try to shutdown but eventually freezes.

Your bios has a setting for; last state, off, etc. when powering on and off. Try a differenet setting and see what happens, one like OFF.

I received your PM, but anytime you start a thread, especially when help is requested, the rule is to keep it in the thread so all can see, help, learn, or lend other suggestions as well.

You stated: I have just went through the bios, can't seem to find anything that relates to the last state. The bios is AMI legal BIOS.

In your bios, look for the Power Heading or something similar.
Under that look for APM configuration or Power Management/APM, etc.
Look for Restore on AC Power loss or again, something similar to that.

I am convinced that the issue l;ies with the BIOS as this problem did not start until I clear the CMOS. Can't find anything obvious in CMOS that can be causing the problem.

ddp has just reiterated what I?ve stated in my previous post. Try once again and look for it under every heading, open up each heading and look thru the sub headings.
