The other only way you can do it is by using swap magic.Do a google search and you will see how it works and where to buy it from. What it does is it boots the game for you because without a modchip the ps2 doesnt recognise the game as being a ps2 game.
Well there's nothing crazy if you have a qualified professional install a quality chip like the DMS 4 Pro SE, Matrix Infinity, or Crystal Chip. Newer chips are so well designed that there's no real danger of frying your laser or mobo. They automatically shut down if there's any danger of overheating. I play my PS2 5 hours a day or so, and the chip hasn't shut down once due to overheating. Now an exception to this would be if you have a v.12 PS2 or later. The slims require a laser fix. Even an unmodded Slimline PS2 can burn out in a couple hours. You have to get a laser fix if you chip a slim PS2. I don't mean to ramble, just giving you a head's up. Swap Magic is a good product, you can order it off http://www.gocybershop.ca or several other sites at a reasonable price. It usually runs $20-$30.
dude get a Hard drive and hd advanced cd of the net thats it---
will save you so much money in the long run
hd are cheap at frys or ebay and hd advance is like 20 bucks---
but to make the hard drive work you need a network adapter aswell which is like 25 bucks---
so in total like 150 bucks----but after that any game you get you can put on the hard drive for quicker loading and saves etc..
plus some people back up there games there------or if you owned the original(keep reciept) and somehow lost it b4 putting it on the hard drive ----you can rent it again and put it on the hard drive with the hd advance disk--and now you have the game on the hard drive
