Can anyone please help? I have just switched from using bitcomet to azereus 2.3.0.6 as the download speed was 10 kb/s and i had read that azereus was much faster.
However when i download now my speed is very low at around 5 - 8 kb/s.
Does anyone know why this is? I am using SP2 and have enabled the selcted port ( 50000) to be opened but still no joy. i am dowloading now has 24(28) seeds and 56 ( 265) peers. is this good? and if not is there something that i should conigure to improve this?
Also I am not using a router ( as far as I am aware ) . the intenet connection is via a cable modem but the laptop has in the past been used on a network - will this make any difference?
Also what is the difference between private and public tracking?

Do u mean through ur windows firewall?. Make sure this is done correctly , look for my name in this thread:

and follow the steps, also do a NAT test to see if ur ports are actually open. Here's the link:

After the = put in the port # ur using, and leave ur client on when running this test. It needs to come back "open!".

A public site anyone can go and d/l files w/o signing up or ratio restrictions

A private site gives u premium speeds b/c u HAVE to share or else ur booted from the site, fast releases, better security and forum/help, for a few ;-D

Also try d/l a healthier torrent ie: more seeders than leechers.
