Hi, I need some help here. I recently finished this last build. Abit kv7v m/b AMD xp3000+ Cosair xms 512mb.ddr-400 Nvidia ti-4600 NEC 3520a dvd
Rosewill dual 12v rail 450w psu Win xp pro sp-2 all updated. Whenever I try to play any type of game my cpu temp.starts climbing(normal right?),and either I will get the bsod or the comp.will lock up. I have the latest bios and drivers installed.Could this be a hardware compatability problem? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

what kind of cooling do you have? hsf? how many fans? their specs?

Hi,I'm using a volcano 10+ @5200 rpm for the cpu,there are 2-120mm. case fans running @3800 rpm (in thru the front & out thru the back)2-80mm.fans mounted under the video card and 1 pointed at the northbridge,running @4100 rpm.The case temp.at the moment is 27c and cpu temp. is 31c.Thanks for helping!

Well since I hav'nt received any more replies/ideas I decided to switch out video cards, installed Ati rage 128 pro in an open pci slot and removed Nvidia card and drivers.The problem still exists,I did notice that it appears to be cpu related as I was backing up my copy of Lord of War (good movie b.t.w.)when the bsod visited me again (using DVD Shrink at the time) the thing is the cpu temp never rose above 43c ! I could really use some help on this now that I believe the video card is not the culprit.

how do you get such low temps my cpu is always 63 Degrees celsius and the case is 38

Hi,I really don't think my temps. are that low in comparison to what I've seen others post with similar set-ups.The case that I'm using (Raidmax- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811156179) has a lot of room inside and seems to be well ventilated. I'm also running 6 fans in it.I would gladly trade off higher temps. for some kind of stability,kinda pulling my hair out trying to solve this problem.

how many sticks of ram are you using? if using 2 than try 1 at a time to see if a bad stick might be causing the problem. also try reseatting the ram stick(s).

Hi ddp,I'm only using 1 stick (Corsair xms 3200c2pt) and I've got another coming tommorow so I could run dual channel.
