Been banging my head on the wall trying to achieve the mythical high download speeds that people seem to wax lyrical about. Tried opening ports 6881 - 6999, then discovered that is no good so took other conflicting advice and opened other ports - too numerous to list.
Turned firewall off - no change
Tried utorrent then bitcomet then azereus then back to utorrent . all to no avail , cant get anything higher than 10 kb/s and as i type my download is crawling along at the rate of 1.5 kb/s getting to the dizzy heights of 3 kb/s at some stages.

also whenever i choose torrents with a lot of seeds it chooses a paltry number of them.

THere are probably lots of simple answers to these problems but i have had enough and am going to take up sewing as i feeling thicker by the second trying this.

sorry for the protracted rant but i expect other people are suffering too.

Ok ok , i'll/we will try to help ,

what client are you currently using ? utorrent >change port nums to 50000+
allow port numbers in firewall

do you have a router ?? if so use this link to forward the ports
http://www.portforward.com

what connection/speed do you have ???

Are you using public torrentsites or private ???

need as much info as you can provide in order to help :)
