Hello,

I would be greatful If any one can help me!
I have 2 problems:-

1- When I open my control panel and click on add and remove programs I only find 2 programs but I don,t see the rest, recently Installed windows xp profitional(service pack2) over my xp home edtion which i used to have.

2- I had some viruses and some spywares and after I run microsoft antispyware It got rid of them but the problem i still have is that I have norton systemworks2003, which is updated but I can,t open it when I try to open it from my desktop as if its blocked even after uninstalled it it still not working like it used to be.

HI kRAZYMALE, THIS IS gAIL. I just had a similar problem with Norton. I found out I needed to purchase the newer vision--2006. One of the newer one comes the antiviris systems. It costs $69.99. I'm having problems deleteing something called Mcafee and Mighty Max. I did not even purchase these programs. They just showed up on my computer. Anyway, the salesman told me i had to remove any antiviris programs "before" putting in the new Norton, or there would be big problems. So-- try a new version. Gail

Thank you Gal but I don't think that I have more than norton antivirus, which is Norton Systemworks2003 updated and it used to work fine with me. I even heared that its very good because it has many options as I have the org copy but the only problem im having is that even after uninstalled it and reinstalled again it seems blocked some how??? No Idea :-(

I used it since 2003 and never had any problems until I had a couple of mlware with some spywares & viruses when my little brother disabled the antivirus & I didn't know at the time so I got rid of all the viruses and spywares, I can't but can't use or open my norton systemworks again.

Seing as you have malware, why not get it out and see what happends?

Heres how to use it, btw thanks to axxxel for posting this info.

-> download -> Unzip to C:\HJT-> Press Ok and Close window

Make sure that you actually extract HijackThis to its own folder: C:\HJT.
DO NOT run it from within a zip manager (Winzip), or Desktop as no backups will be saved.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 4: Scan your computer

Now Open Hijackthis -> Click "Do a system scan and save log file"
Hjt will scan your computer for about 15 sec. -> Log file will pop up.

Most items are perfectly fine. You should not remove them.
Never remove everything by yourself.
This forum will now help you work with the Experts to clean up your system.

-> Copy and paste the contents of the HijackThis log into your post.
Make new thread for your own log
Post full log, begins with: Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1... etc
