Hello
I am after some feedack
I have 2 AVI Files, which I think were encoded with DivX
I was wanting to know if its possible to transfer the two files into one file and put it to dvd, without losing any quality. I have tryed some software that can do this but the quality doesn't look as good as the original
Thanks, appreciate any feedback

the 2 files are AVI's a two part movie file, which are encoded using DivX I think. I have tryed the program AVI2DVD but its takes a long time to put to dvd, the quality wasn't bad though, just want to know if there is a way to convert them quicker without losing too much quality. I tryed converting them and joining them as mpeg's but again huge lose of quality.
Thanks for your help

i suggest that you try using vso DivX to dvd, you will be able to batch both files together and then burn them as joined or if you want to do them separately then take each part and add them into Nero recode where you can merge them together before you burn them to disc

The original is not 100% quality say about 60-70% so if its close to that then it would be fine

I will give it a try most of the ones I have used they put the 2 files on the 1 disc, but have the files still as two separate title chapters, the file is split in two halfs, I want to be able to join it as one, so it has all the chapters but as in one file

this is easy then:
if you encode each file separartely when you use the 'remake dvd'option after you have added both files all you need to do is highlight both files and use the merge button before you burn your project.

you need to convert them from AVI to mpeg2 first before you start the burning form.Nero cant reconize them in the format there are currently in until you convert them ,then it will see them as a dvd movie to be burnt.
do you have 1st off avicodec , run your file through it and post the results for me to see
and vso DivX to dvd to do the conversion, if not i cant link you to the free version

the files will convert with DivX to dvd, how fast will depend on your pc's ability. It may take an hour or longer but thats the way of things these days
before you begin what are your pc stats.
when you do this log off the net, disable your virus protection and just let the process happen.Encoding is resource hungry and the less applications running will make the process go quicker and wont interrupt the data flow.then i guess i'll see you in a couple of hours then
have fun

Ok makes sense now, I have a fairly fast computer, yeah would be best to disable to anti-virus and that, to make it go bit quicker. I usually try to have very little programs running when burning etc.
Thanks for all your help, apprecaite it
I will let you know how I go. Probably will not be today now as its very hot and humid so going to give the computer a spell for a while
Thanks
