Excerps from conversation with dRD......
------------------------------------------
I am experiencing a problem recently and I am not sure if it is the media or Sony DVD Player or use of IFOedit. I have written a couple discs lately and when I put them in the Sony, I get a "Disc Dirty" error message. If I put the same disc in my PC, it plays okay. Any clues??? I thought maybe I was experiencing a problem with my A03, since you told me about the heating problem, so I put my new A04 in last night and that's as far as I have got. I am using the media I got from CDROM2GO, so I am thinking maybe it is media. I have some Pioneer Brand DVD-R's, so I am going to write the same exact files tonight and see if it plays. I read in a forum that you should use the DVD Play button to start the movie in IFOedit to see what titles it uses. It returned that it used 1 and 6. So, if I am understanding correctly, that along with the VIDEO_TS files and the VTS_01_x files (main movie), I need the VTS_06_x files as well to make it work correctly??? To back up a little, the movie did not work at all until I followed the procedure I found and added the VTS_06_x files.......

Sorry this is long-winded, but I needed to supply all the info to help you guys/gals come up with an answer.

I had your problem, it would work fine on PC but not on a standalone the problem was that when I had stripped the movie with ifoedit I didnt reload the program and get VTS sectors

Maybe I am just foggy on how to use the VTS Sectors button. I was doing great on my reproductions and all of a sudden I am having this string of bad luck. After stripping the VOB's, you reload VIDEO_TS and do the VTS Sectors. Do you have to hit save button, as I notice the file date and time changes without doing so??? Also, if you hit the save button, what file are you saving...the VIDEO_TS or the particular VTS_XX_XX ????? F.Y.I. This problem is occurring with DVD's that I am splitting.

when you hit the vts sectors button and press ok to everything it saves the ifo files itself.
You don't need to press save.
The only files it changes are the two ifo files that ifoedit should have created in the stripping stage Vts_01_0.ifo and Video_ts.ifo

Thanks Cobra....... I am having success tonight. Also tried one other thing.... Standard DVD-R will write at 2x speed.... but I
reduced speed to 1x since I am writing to these cheap DVD-R's. Seems to have done the trick.
