Trying to burn Ritek DVD-R DL discs. Burns always fail.

Using Sony DRX 810UL drive. Drive is brand new and works great for Ritek DVD-R 4x and 8x non-DL discs.
External drive, USB 2.0 connected to laptop(sorry, no firewire on laptop).
PC: P4 2.0, 2GB RAM

The burn fails about 2 seconds after it starts. Happens on multiple media. Media is brand new; just received.

Any ideas? Error message from Nero 7 below.. Please help!!!

It has some windows and Nero errors and doesn't like the media being used.

Most folk recommend burning dual layer discs at 2.4x for a better burn.

This is what I see at this time. The Nero-nator will be along shortly.
