BenQ DW-1655 Problems Help!!

Hi, I just installed the BenQ-DW1655 today and am having issues, :(

My computer recognizes the drive in device manager correctly as BenQ DW-1655 but it will not read or play any kind of discs!!

Nero info tool recognizes it to and the firmware says BCAB.

Is it possible a brand new drive can be shot? Why it will not read any discs is beyond me. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Has the region code been set?

No region code is set, it is set to not selected like the rest of my drives.

It does not even acknowledge any kind of disk in it and when putting a disc in it makes a faint grinding noise which makes me believe it is defective.

I am probably going to RMA it back but it will probably take awile to get a replacement as they seem to be out of stock at the moment ugghhh!!!
